PNC-27
p53-derived membrane-active peptide studied in cell and mouse cancer models.
Overview
PNC-27 is a 32-residue synthetic peptide that joins the HDM-2-binding region of p53 (residues 12-26) to a cell-penetrating "penetratin" sequence. In cell cultures and mouse models it binds HDM-2 displayed on cancer-cell membranes and punches pores that kill those cells, while sparing the normal cells tested. No human trial has been published, so none of this shows it is safe or effective in people. It is not FDA-evaluated and is sold for laboratory research only; nothing here is medical or dosing advice.
